...Meet The Cast...
Jeanne Mount (Susan) Jeanne Mount took up acting because she wanted to be somebody else. "I took an acting class, and I had to be somebody else. It's a great feeling," she says. "Better than singing." Singing was her first career--she traveled all over the U.S. with large bands and in nightclubs. "With singing, you can't make mistakes before a live audience. They hear every false note," she says, "but with acting, you can have as many takes to get it right as the director will allow. And the best part of it is that the director instructs you in his vision of the film--you don't have to come up with one yourself. Not that you can't add to a film in significant ways--you can. And that's one of the biggest challenges--to add to a film in a significant way that doesn't disrupt the overall vision of the writer and director, but instead, complements it." An actress whom I particularly admire who does this in almost every instance is Meryl Streep. Jeanne has acted in approximately 15 short films, and two commercials since she took up acting two years ago. Her ambition is to be a TV series regular--to portray somebody's rich aunt, or a top deputy public defender, or an alien from another world. "Being an alien from another world would be an exciting acting opportunity," she says enthusiastically.
